With unwavering pride and devotion, I am pleased to serve as Executive Director for the International American Medical Mission (IAMM). My life’s journey confirms that I have always had a passion to help others. From early years as a patrol guard in elementary school,to later ensuring that the citizens of Chicago were safe by serving as a police officer; my desire to make a difference has always been evident. Consequently, when offered the position of Executive Director for IAMM, I didn’t hesitate to embrace the challenge. I knew it would give me an opportunity to fill a void that had grown as my career progressed and responsibilities mounted, to continue to make an impactful difference in Chicago and around the world.
I recall my first IAMM mission trip to Haiti where I witnessed individuals and families surviving on bare minimum, yet they were grateful because our army of volunteers were there to help. Since then, the IAMM team has traveled to New Orleans, Haiti, Jamaica and the Dominican Republic. Every single trip has been impactful, self-gratifying, enlightening and rewarding in its own way. We are saving lives and that notion gives us the energy and desire to come back again and again.
